Aroosan Village
Beside sand dunes, salt lakes, and an unbelievable night sky, deserts house the fingerprints of people patient enough to build life in the scorching heat of the sun. If you are planning an adventurous travel to the central desert of Iran, it would be worthwhile to spend a few hours getting to know the modest and graceful bride of the desert, Aroosan.
Literally meaning bride in Farsi, Aroosan is a small village in Khur and Biabanak county in Isfahan province. It is located 920 meter above the sea level on the outskirts of the mountains nearing the central desert of Iran. It holds 270 inhabitants, whose job is mainly farming and breeding camels. The old water reservoirs and mud-brick houses with wooden doors and windows, with ayvans and rooms lined around a central yard, speak of a rather far past. You will forget about the passage of time when walking around saffron fields, pomegranate orchards and the astounding date palm orchards of Aroosan which produce about 60 different types of dates. Aroosan village is home to a small number of residents who continue to welcome guests with love and a warm smile.
